Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Myna24 collects from you, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. Please read it carefully — by using Myna24 you agree to the practices described below.

1. Introduction

Myna24 ("Myna24", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Myna24 website at myna24.comand the Myna24 mobile application (together, the "Platform"). The Platform helps users discover and book PG accommodations, homes, flats, hotels, resorts, villas and other stays across India, and helps property owners list and manage their properties.

We are committed to protecting the personal information of our users, hosts, and visitors, and we handle it in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and other applicable laws.

2. Scope of this Policy

This Policy applies to personal information we collect through the Platform, including when you:

  • Create or sign in to a Myna24 account (using phone OTP, email, or Google sign-in).
  • Browse listings, search for properties, or use maps and location features.
  • Save favorites, add items to your wishlist, or view a property page.
  • Send booking requests, complete payments, or chat with hosts or support.
  • List a property as a host and upload photos, documents, or property details.
  • Contact customer support, leave reviews, or interact with the community.

This Policy does not cover the practices of third-party websites, services, or applications that we link to but do not operate.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account data: name, phone number, email address, password (hashed), profile photo, date of birth.
  • Profile details: current address, occupation, qualification, languages, hobbies, interests, bio / about me.
  • Identity & verification: government-issued ID (when required for a booking or listing), selfie for identity match, KYC status.
  • Booking data: check-in / check-out dates, guest count, special requests, payment confirmations, cancellation reasons.
  • Host data: property title, address, amenities, rules, photos, availability calendar, price, bank or UPI details for payouts.
  • Communications: chat messages with hosts or support, reviews you write, complaints and feedback.

3.3 Information from third parties

  • Social / identity providers: when you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile picture as permitted.
  • Payment processors: transaction status, masked card / UPI identifiers and payment failure codes. We do NOT store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Maps & geocoding providers: place suggestions, coordinates and distance estimates based on the location you type.

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and operate your account and keep you signed in across sessions.
  • To show listings relevant to your location, search and filters.
  • To process bookings, payments, refunds, cancellations and host payouts.
  • To enable chat between guests and hosts, and between you and our support team.
  • To send booking confirmations, reminders, receipts, OTPs and service updates.
  • To verify your identity and prevent fraud, abuse, spam or unauthorized access.
  • To improve the Platform, debug errors, measure feature performance and run analytics.
  • To personalize recommendations, recent searches, wishlist and homepage content.
  • To comply with legal, regulatory and tax obligations in India.
  • To send you marketing messages, only where permitted and with an option to opt out.

6. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information only as described below:

  • With hosts and guests: once you confirm a booking, we share the minimum details each side needs — name, booking dates, masked contact and any agreed special requests.
  • With service providers: cloud hosting, payment gateways, SMS / email providers, analytics, map and geocoding providers, customer-support tools, anti-fraud services. They are bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
  • With government or law enforcement: when required by law, court order, or a lawful request, or to protect rights, property or safety.
  • In a business transfer: if Myna24 is involved in a merger, acquisition, investment or sale of assets, your data may be transferred, subject to equivalent safeguards.
  • With your consent: any other purpose to which you have agreed.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or third parties.

7. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, local storage and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, power search and filter features, and measure how the Platform is used. The main categories are:

  • Strictly necessary: login sessions, security tokens, fraud prevention. These cannot be turned off.
  • Functional: recent searches, selected city, language, layout preferences.
  • Analytics: aggregated page views, performance metrics and crash reports.
  • Marketing: only if you opt in; used to measure campaign performance.

You can control cookies through your browser or device settings. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Platform from working.

8. Location Data

If you enable the "Nearby" feature or grant location permission, we use your approximate or precise location to show listings close to you and compute distance from a property. You can disable location at any time in your browser or device settings. We do not continuously track your location in the background.

9. Data Storage & International Transfers

Your personal information is primarily stored on secure servers located in India. Some of our service providers (for example, cloud infrastructure, analytics and crash reporting) may process data outside India. When we transfer information outside India, we ensure appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and equivalent technical protections are in place.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary:

  • Account data: while your account is active, and for a reasonable period after deletion to resolve disputes.
  • Booking & payment records: typically 7–8 years, as required by Indian tax and accounting laws.
  • KYC & identity documents: as long as legally required, then securely deleted.
  • Chat messages: retained while relevant to the booking and for fraud prevention.
  • Logs & analytics: aggregated or anonymized after a limited period.

11. Security of Your Information

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, access controls, audit logging and regular security reviews. Payments are handled by PCI-DSS compliant gateways. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; please keep your password confidential and sign out on shared devices.

12. Your Rights & Choices

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information from your profile screen.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data (subject to legal retention).
  • Withdraw consent for marketing or optional data processing at any time.
  • Port a copy of certain data you have provided to us.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Nominate an individual to exercise your rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity (under the DPDP Act).

13. Children's Privacy

Myna24 is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

14. Third-Party Services

The Platform integrates with third-party services such as Google Sign-In, payment gateways, map providers, SMS / email providers and crash-reporting tools. Their use of your information is governed by their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. Clicking on external links on the Platform will take you off Myna24.

15. Additional Notes for Hosts

If you list a property on Myna24, certain listing details (property title, photos, location at neighborhood level, amenities, price, house rules and reviews) are displayed publicly so guests can make informed choices. Your full address and contact details are only shared with a guest after a booking is confirmed. Payout details are encrypted and visible only to you and our finance team.

16. Marketing Communications

With your consent, we may send you promotional emails, SMS, WhatsApp or push notifications about new features, offers and city launches. You can opt out anytime using the "Unsubscribe" link in the email, by replying STOP to an SMS, or by turning off notifications in your device settings or account preferences. Transactional messages (OTPs, booking confirmations, payment receipts) will continue to be sent as they are part of the service.

18. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes we will notify you through the Platform or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows the current version. Continued use of Myna24 after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
